Rail Travel If travelling by rail, you can either make you own way to the start or you can walk about ¾ mile to the Shuttle Coach Service. On leaving the station turn right on Station Hill, turn right at the roundabout in Tayfen Road, over the next mini-roundabout into Parkway. The shuttle service is on the left.
Car Parking The Race Organisers are providing a free Park & Ride coach shuttle service from the town centre ‘Parkway Car Parks’. PLEASE USE THIS SERVICE as there is no provision for competitor car parking within Nowton Park. The shuttle service will be in operation from 8.30am until 10am. Please arrive in plenty of time to avoid missing the coaches. The shuttle service will also be in operation to return competitors to their cars after the race.
Shuttle Service The car parks are situated in Parkway, Bury St Edmunds.
Directions from A14: Exit at junction 43 towards town centre and follow the road via Tayfen Road to Parkway and then follow the “Park & Ride” car park signs to pick up the shuttle service.
Directions from A134: If travelling from the South take first exit left at the first roundabout in Bury St Edmunds, right at the second roundabout and follow the Park & Ride car park signs to pick up the shuttle service.
Emergency If asked/told by a RACE OFFICIAL to evacuate the parks, please do so without question and in a calm and
Evacuation orderly manner. Continual blasts on an air horn will indicate that the park has to be evacuated. Make your way to the Main Car Park (unless instructed to go elsewhere) and be prepared to leave the Park.
Lost Children Lost children found in the Park will be taken to the Results caravan located by the Ranger Hut & Shop.
Changing Due to the start / finish being located in a Park which has no building for changing, we have to create “Tent City” so facilities are more limited. There are separate marquees for both male and female changing, but if you arrive changed it would help ease congestion in the marquees.
Kit Bags There will be an undercover supervised kit bag storage area although everything left there will be at the owner’s own risk. In with your race pack you will find a baggage label. Please write your race number on it and attach to your bag beforehand, as everyone will be trying to hand in kit bags at the last minute. You will need your race number to collect your kit bag at the end of the race.
Toilets The location of the toilets is beside the Ranger Hut & Shop to the right of the main car park as you come into the Park.
